⚠️ Profit shown is per completed full cycle. A full cycle means every grid level completes one buy-sell pair. Actual frequency depends on market volatility. This tool does not predict returns or provide financial advice.

Results are based on your inputs and a simplified model. Actual trading results will vary due to market volatility, liquidity, and execution conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is grid trading?
Grid trading is a strategy that places buy and sell orders at preset price intervals (a "grid") within a defined range. When the price fluctuates within this range, the bot automatically buys low and sells high at each grid level, profiting from volatility rather than direction.
How does this calculator work?
You enter your grid parameters — price range, number of grids, investment amount, and fee rates. The calculator simulates a complete grid cycle and shows your theoretical profit, minus real-world costs like trading fees, slippage, and funding rates. It also compares grid trading with HODL and DCA strategies.
Does this calculator connect to any exchange?
No. This is a purely educational simulation tool. It does not connect to Binance, OKX, Bybit, or any exchange. All calculations run locally in your browser. No data is sent to any server.
What is a "full cycle" in the results?
A full cycle means every grid level completes one buy-sell pair. In reality, how many cycles complete depends on market volatility. Higher volatility within your range means more completed cycles and higher total profit. The calculator shows per-cycle results — not predicted total returns.
Why are my net profits so much lower than gross profits?
Trading fees, slippage, and funding rates (for perpetual contracts) are costs that most basic calculators ignore. In grid trading, these costs multiply because each grid level triggers a trade. With 50 grids, you pay fees on 100 trades (50 buys + 50 sells) per cycle.
What happens if the price goes outside my grid range?
If the price drops below your lower bound, your bot stops buying and you hold assets purchased at higher prices — potentially at a significant unrealized loss. If it goes above your upper bound, you miss out on further upside. This is the primary risk of grid trading.
What is slippage and why does it matter?
Slippage is the difference between the expected price and the actual execution price. In low-liquidity markets or during volatile moments, slippage can significantly reduce each grid's profit. Even 0.05% slippage across 50 grids adds up meaningfully.
What are funding rates?
Funding rates are periodic payments between long and short traders on perpetual futures contracts. If you run a grid bot on perpetual contracts, you may pay funding every 8 hours. This is an ongoing cost that many traders forget to account for. Toggle "Perpetual" mode above to include this cost.
Is grid trading better than DCA or HODL?
It depends on market conditions. Grid trading performs well in sideways, range-bound markets. DCA performs better in steadily declining markets (averaging down your entry). HODL outperforms in strong bull markets. Use the comparison feature above to simulate all three under your own assumptions.
Is this financial advice?
No. This tool is for educational and simulation purposes only. It does not predict future prices, recommend trading pairs, or guarantee results. Always do your own research and only trade with capital you can afford to lose.
